Making Life Better Through Connection

Many people are dealing with a pervasive sense of fear and anxiety, feelings stimulated when not experiencing a sense of safety and security. This can occur when there are true physical threats such as coming face to face with a bear while hiking.

It can also occur when there are perceived threats (even if not actual physical threats) such as thoughts around a scarcity mentality, “I am not going to have enough…” Both true physical threats and perceived physical threats stimulate our survival mode where we feel anxious as our bodies get flooded with stress chemicals such as adrenaline and cortisol.

This is healthy if transient (ends right after we deal with the bear in front of us) but extremely harmful if persistent or chronic. Perceived threats are much more likely to lead to chronic stress and the associated exposure to stress chemicals ongoing.

Being in "survival mode" leads to the pursuit of self-preservation and isolation, which perpetuates a sense of insecurity. Often the more anxious you feel the more isolated you become which leads to more anxiety. True connection (not social media) can break the downward spiral of anxiety and its best friend isolation. Connection is the antidote to anxiety.

Dr. Matthew Lederman and Dr. Alona Pulde have spent over two decades in the health and wellness field where they have seen many people struggle and fail to experience optimum health and joy in their lives. They founded Kinectin to change that.

Kinectin’s unique “Hands of Joy” framework, helps you identify what will make your life more wonderful and then supports you in that pursuit. The Kinectin approach evaluates both the health of your internal world (from sleep to nutrition to play and self-care) and the depth of authentic connection in your external world (the key relationships in your life) to help you balance, improve, and optimize it all. When your internal world is more resourced you have a greater capacity to connect and contribute to your external world, leading to expansiveness and greater joy.

The Kinectin skills, surprisingly to most people, can be taught and learned in a relatively short amount of time. With the support of Kinectin’s tools and services you can gain the clarity necessary to successfully integrate all of these pieces and apply them to your own life, not only restoring your overall health but also allowing you to determine how much joy you will experience and bring into your life today and everyday forward.

Dr. Matthew Lederman and Dr. Alona Pulde

Matt and Alona specialize in optimizing health and making life better for their clients. They started using nutrition and lifestyle medicine to reverse disease and improve wellbeing when they coauthored “Keep It Simple, Keep It Whole.” From there they founded Transition To Health, Inc and Exsalus Health & Wellness Center where they helped patients reverse disease that conventional medicine could not.

They were featured in the film “Forks Over Knives” and co-authored the New York Times Bestseller “The Forks Over Knives Plan” and “Forks Over Knives Family.” In 2010 they joined Whole Foods Market, creating their lifestyle-improvement program and leading various other health and wellness projects. Together with John Mackey, the CEO and co-founder of Whole Foods Market, they coauthored, “The Whole Foods Diet” and “The Whole Foods Cookbook.”

As Vice Presidents at Whole Foods Market they led the initiative to establish comprehensive medical and wellness centers and develop a self-insured health plan and health system partner network designed to optimize all aspects of employee health in a comprehensive, integrated program. In 2020 they transitioned out of their roles at Whole Foods Market to devote their full time to their new venture, Kinectin.

Alona Pulde, MD is a board-certified practitioner of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Family Medicine Physician.
